Nintendo reveals details for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake
Details are emerging regarding the upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which is slated for release on November 5, 2026, for the Nintendo Switch 2. Game Director Eiji Aonuma has described the project as a faithful remake, and recent official artwork featuring a map of Hyrule has provided fans with new insights into the game world.
The map shows updated visual designs for classic locations such as Kokiri Village and the Hyrule Market. Notably, the map depicts the Sacred Grove and the entrance to the Forest Temple as distinct locations in the Lost Woods, suggesting potential refinements to the world layout.
Anticipation among the community includes requests for special physical editions. Following a trend from the original Nintendo 64 release, fans have proposed a gold-colored cartridge for the Switch 2 to commemorate the title. Expected technical features for the remake include an orchestral soundtrack and the ability to play Ocarina melodies using the console's microphone.
