Nintendo reveals Switch 2 hardware details and Call of Duty pre-orders

Nintendo has revealed a hardware update schedule for the Nintendo Switch family, including the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. To comply with European regulations by February 2027, Nintendo will introduce hardware modifications that allow users to independently replace rechargeable batteries.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is expected this autumn, featuring a battery capacity of approximately 5,172 mAh and included Joy-Con 2 controllers with replaceable batteries. The console's weight is estimated at about 411g. Other upcoming hardware includes new Joy-Con colors arriving this summer and a Pro Controller for the Switch 2 expected this winter.

Additionally, pre-orders have opened for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on the Nintendo Switch 2. Notably, the physical edition of the game will not include a game cartridge, but will instead provide a download code. This decision is likely due to the large file size of the game, which requires approximately 85GB of space.
