Nintendo Announces Splatoon Raiders for Switch 2, Launching July 23
Nintendo held a dedicated Splatoon Raiders Direct on June 30, 2026, unveiling its next‑generation spin‑off that will be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2. The game is scheduled for release on July 23, 2026.
Players assume the role of a Mechanic who teams up with the Deep Cut trio (Shiver, Frye and Big Man) to explore the mysterious Spirhalite Islands. The title focuses on a single‑player treasure‑hunting adventure but also supports four‑player cooperative play, with the entire story available in co‑op mode.
Combat centres on battling waves of Salmonid enemies—Lesser, Boss and Seasoned variants—using a roster of more than 100 weapon variations. Gameplay is built around three ink‑tank types—Speed, Power and Tactical—each paired with customizable gadgets. Players can upgrade their hideout ship, customise their character, and choose from three difficulty settings (Tourist, Raider, Survivalist). Nintendo also announced related Amiibo figures, new Joy‑Con 2 colour options and opened pre‑orders.
The Direct ran approximately 15‑20 minutes and was followed by a Treehouse Live segment that provided additional gameplay footage and details.
