Nintendo adds Super Mario Sunshine and two Virtual Boy games to Switch 2
Nintendo announced that the classic 3D platformer Super Mario Sunshine will join the Nintendo Switch Online GameCube Classics library on Switch 2 (and Switch) on 13 August 2026. Access requires a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription.
The same update also brings two previously cancelled Virtual Boy titles—D‑HOPPER (also known as Dragon Hopper) and ZERO RACERS—to the Virtual Boy – Nintendo Classics service on 4 August 2026. Both games, completed in 1996 but shelved after the Virtual Boy’s commercial failure, will be playable on Switch and Switch 2 for Expansion‑Pack members. The release adds a screen‑color customization feature to the Virtual Boy app.
These additions expand Nintendo’s retro‑gaming catalogue, giving subscribers new ways to experience historic titles that were never released at the time.
