Ubisoft launches $500,000 Caribbean treasure hunt for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced

Ubisoft announced a real‑world treasure hunt called **Gold & Crystal – The Lost Treasure of Edward Kenway** to promote the upcoming remake *Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced*. In partnership with French startup Unsolved Hunts, the competition will begin on 9 November 2026 and challenges participants to solve 15 themed puzzles – a cryptic bottle message, a Caribbean map and a collection of letters – all of which can be tackled remotely without owning the game. The solved clues point to a single chest buried somewhere in the Caribbean. The hunt is designed to last two to five years; the first player to pinpoint the exact location will travel to the site to excavate the prize, a $500 000 treasure comprising $350 000 in gold coins minted with the game’s logo and a crystal skull replica valued at $150 000. Access to the hunt is sold in tiered packages ranging from €34.99 to €199.99, each providing digital clues and, for higher tiers, physical artefacts such as maps, letters and a replica pirate flag. Ubisoft and Unsolved Hunts expect the event to keep fans engaged well beyond the game’s launch on 9 July 2026 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
