Nintendo shuts down Mario Kart Tour mobile servers

Nintendo has officially shut down the servers for Mario Kart Tour, ending the mobile racing game's seven-year run. The service concluded on September 29, 2026, making the game no longer playable for users on iOS and Android.

Unlike the previous shutdown of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, Nintendo will not release a paid offline version of Mario Kart Tour. Players can no longer participate in races or access online content. The application remains accessible only for viewing historical statistics and general rankings, a feature expected to remain active until September 2027.

Since its launch in 2019, Mario Kart Tour achieved significant commercial success, with estimates suggesting over 270 million downloads and approximately $268.5 million in accumulated revenue. Many of the game's 546 tracks have been integrated into the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass on the Nintendo Switch.
