Nintendo Switch 2 software and hardware updates

The Nintendo Switch 2 ecosystem is seeing significant activity regarding upcoming software and hardware details. Producer Seita Inoue confirmed that the hit title Splatoon Raiders will not receive any DLC or updates, as it was designed to be a complete, self-contained experience. Despite this, fans have largely reacted positively to the decision.

New game releases and pre-orders for late September 2026 include titles such as Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, Minecraft Dungeons II, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, and Dragon Quest XI S. RuneScape: Dragonwilds, an open-world action survival spin-off from Jagex, has also launched on the console.

Hardware specifications for the Switch 2 include a custom NVIDIA Tegra T239 processor, 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. The console is expected to feature an 8-inch LCD display. Users are advised to prepare their Nintendo Accounts in advance of the anticipated October 2026 release window.
