Nintendo Switch 2 edition of horror game SOMA launches in Japan

A Nintendo Switch 2 edition of the survival‑horror game SOMA has begun rolling out, first spotted in Japan and expected to become available within the next few days. The new version offers a technical upgrade over the original Switch release, including higher resolution and improved image quality on Nintendo’s latest console.

Developed by Frictional Games, SOMA is set in the underwater research facility PATHOS‑II and explores themes of identity, consciousness and humanity. Players must navigate scarce resources, malfunctioning machines and hostile entities while uncovering the station’s mysteries.
