Nintendo Switch 2 Launches Xenoblade 2 Edition as South Korea Faces Console Price Rise
Nintendo confirmed a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, scheduled for digital release on July 30 and physical release on October 1. The edition adds a new rare Blade, an associated quest, a new action battle mode, and new equipment designs for Pyra and Mythra, while fans have suggested additional quality‑of‑life tweaks such as adjusted rare Blade drop rates, clearer tutorials, automatic collectible pickup, improved lip‑sync for English dialogue, and extra save slots.
Separately, Nintendo announced a limited price increase for the Switch 2 in South Korea effective September 1. The console’s price will rise from ₩648,000 to ₩758,000, citing weaker won values and broader market‑condition pressures. Earlier price hikes in North America and Europe lifted the Switch 2 from $450 to $500, and Nintendo warned that component shortages could trigger further increases later in the year.
