Nintendo Switch 2 gets Xenoblade Chronicles 4K upgrade and broader game compatibility

Nintendo has released an optimized version of Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition for the Switch 2 console. The update raises the resolution to 4K in TV mode and maintains a smooth 60 fps performance, while the handheld mode runs at 1080p and 60 fps. New technical enhancements include a high‑definition vibration system, added English and Japanese voice‑overs, and extra gameplay content such as the Jet ether vehicle and Grand Prix events. The paid upgrade is priced at €10, with a physical retail launch scheduled for 30 July and a digital release on the same date.

In a separate software rollout, Nintendo issued a compatibility update for Switch 2 that automatically expands the list of original Switch titles that run correctly on the new hardware. The patch adds games such as Artifact Seekers, Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove, Raiden IV × Mikado Remix and several others, while reducing the number of titles still experiencing issues. Nintendo has not announced a timetable for future compatibility patches.
