Nintendo announces price hikes for Switch console and online service

Nintendo will raise the retail price of its Switch console in Japan from ¥49,980 to ¥59,980, a change that took effect on 25 May 2026. Similar increases are slated for the United States, Canada and Europe on 1 September 2026, and for South Korea on the same date, where the price will move from 648,000 won to 758,000 won.

The company also confirmed that Nintendo Switch Online subscription fees will rise on 1 July 2026. The individual plan will go from ¥306 to ¥400 per month (¥815 to ¥1,000 for three months, ¥2,400 to ¥3,000 for a year) and the family yearly plan from ¥4,500 to ¥5,800. Add‑on packs will each increase by ¥1,000. Nintendo advises users to purchase any remaining stock or prepaid subscription vouchers before the new rates take effect.
