Nintendo confirms Switch 2 price increases for UK, US, and Europe
Nintendo has confirmed global price increases for the Nintendo Switch 2, citing changing market conditions and rising component costs. While price adjustments have already taken effect in Japan, several other major markets will see increases starting September 1, 2026.
In the United Kingdom, the console price will rise from £395.99 to £419.99. Ireland will also see an increase to €499.99. In North America, the US price will move from $449.99 to $499.99, and Canada will see an increase to CAD$679.99. Most European markets will also transition to a €499.99 price point.
Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa noted that the adjustments do not fully account for all cost increases, suggesting the hardware may still be sold at a loss. The company attributed the decision to the global business outlook and the rising costs of memory and storage components, a trend also observed with competitors Sony and Microsoft.
