Nintendo Switch 2 sees price reduction ahead of 2026 increase

Nintendo is implementing price adjustments for the Nintendo Switch 2. The console is currently seeing a 100 euro price reduction from its initial 469.99 euro launch price. This temporary decrease is intended to clear stock ahead of a scheduled price increase to 499.99 euros, set for September 1, 2026. The pricing strategy is influenced by rising manufacturing costs, specifically a nearly 60% increase in RAM prices in 2026.

In addition to hardware, Nintendo continues to offer various Nintendo Switch Online subscription tiers. These services provide online multiplayer capabilities for titles such as Mario Kart and Monster Hunter, though free-to-play games like Fortnite do not require a subscription. The service also includes features like GameChat for voice and video communication, access to the Nintendo Music app, and classic game emulators for Super NES, Game Boy, and NES. A one-time 7-day free trial is available for Nintendo account holders.
