Nintendo Switch 2 slated for 2026 launch with expanded game lineup
A preview of the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 highlights both hardware performance and a packed roster of future titles. Early testing of Lies of P: Complete Edition on the device shows a smooth frame‑rate in performance mode, though switching to quality mode reduces smoothness, especially in handheld use. The game will launch on the console on 6 August, accompanied by a performance‑focused patch.
Rumors suggest a broad 2026 release schedule for Switch 2 games, including a new Star Fox entry in summer, a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the franchise’s 40th anniversary, and versions of Pikmin 4 and Xenoblade 2. Additional titles such as Splatoon Raiders, Rhythm Heaven Groove, and Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave are also expected, while a new 3D Mario game is reportedly delayed to 2027.
