Nintendo Switch 2 Star Fox remake launches with orchestral soundtrack
Nintendo released a remake of the classic Star Fox 64 for its upcoming Switch 2 console. Developed by Velan Studios, the game features a visual overhaul that takes advantage of the new hardware, fully voiced dialogue, a sweeping orchestral soundtrack rerecorded at Abbey Road Studios, and new gameplay options such as 4‑vs‑4 multiplayer Battle Mode, GameChat, and Joy‑Con 2 mouse controls. The remake also adds a new GameChat feature that overlays players' faces onto the characters and offers both easy and expert difficulty settings.
The title revisits the original storyline, with Fox McCloud and his team battling the villain Andross across the Lylat system. Players can explore upgraded versions of familiar planets like Corneria and the polluted oceans of Zoness, while the orchestral score replaces the classic synthesised music. Nintendo previewed a behind‑the‑scenes video of the orchestra recording, confirming the soundtrack was performed by a full orchestra at Abbey Road Studios.
