Nintendo Switch 2 storage and game file size details emerge
New details regarding storage and software for the Nintendo Switch 2 have emerged. In Brazil, SanDisk is offering two versions of microSD Express cards for the console. One is an officially licensed version featuring Nintendo branding and Mario characters, while the other is a conventional model. Despite the branding difference, both cards utilize the PCIe 3.1 NVMe interface, offering read speeds up to 880 MB/s and write speeds up to 800 MB/s for the 1 TB model. The licensed version carries a price premium of up to R$ 800 over the standard model.
Additionally, recent eShop listings in Europe, the US, and Japan have provided insight into the file sizes for upcoming titles on the Nintendo Switch 2. Notable entries include Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 at 84.9 GB, Resident Evil 4 at 29.0 GB, and Resident Evil 2 at 14.0 GB. These listings highlight the increased storage requirements for next-generation software compared to current Switch titles.
