Nintendo Switch 2 to get upgraded LCD panel and EU‑friendly battery design

Rumors circulating online indicate that Nintendo plans a hardware revision for the Switch 2 to address complaints about the original display. A new 7.9‑inch 1080p LCD panel, likely supplied by Sharp, has been spotted on a Chinese resale site and is said to replace the current Innolux screen, reducing ghosting and blurred motion. No official statement has been made.

Parallel speculation concerns a version tailored for the European market to comply with upcoming battery‑regulation changes. The design would allow easier battery replacement, aligning the console with new EU portability rules. Both updates are being discussed as separate fixes rather than a full next‑generation console, and the Switch 2, launched globally on 5 June 2025, remains unchanged for existing owners until any revision is confirmed.
