Nintendo Switch 2 to host major RPG launches in 2026

Capcom announced that its fantasy RPG Dragon’s Dogma II will be released for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 on 9 October 2026, alongside a new “Dark Arisen” DLC. Producer Naoto Oyama said the RE Engine was optimised for the hybrid console, achieving at least 30 fps in most scenes and targeting a 60 fps performance mode where possible.

Bandai Namco confirmed that Dragon Quest XI S: Definitive Edition – Switch 2 Edition will launch on 24 September 2026. The version will occupy 23.4 GB, a significant increase over the original Switch build, and will offer enhanced framerate, resolution and graphics options. The company also noted that there will be no upgrade path or save‑file transfer for existing Switch owners.
