Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun II set for October 2026 release
Auroch Digital and publisher Big Fan Games have announced that the retro first-person shooter Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun II will be released on 14 October 2026. The game will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a version for Nintendo Switch 2 expected to follow later in the year.
The sequel features two playable characters: the Ultramarine Malum Caedo and the Sister of Battle Nyra Veyrath. Players will face the Chaos demigod Vashtorr the Arkifane, who has awakened a massive daemonic machine that threatens the Imperial fleet. The campaign is expected to offer branching paths and increased variety in weaponry and enemies, including returning foes like Nurglings and new threats such as Bloodletters.
Notably, Mick Gordon, the composer known for his work on the Doom and Wolfenstein series, will contribute a guest track titled ‘Ascent of the Arkifane’ for the final boss encounter. The game continues the high-tempo, ‘boomer shooter’ gameplay style established in the first installment.
