Nintendo Switch 2 tops Japanese hardware sales as Tomodachi Life leads game chart

During the week of 15 – 21 June, Nintendo’s Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream was the best‑selling video game in Japan, moving 34,957 units and staying ahead of Konami’s Powerful Pro Baseball 2026‑2027, which sold 28,409 copies. Square Enix’s The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales recorded the highest combined sales across platforms, with 38,517 units.

Nintendo’s new Switch 2 console remained the market leader, selling 26,435 units, followed by Sony’s PS5 with 9,449 units. The Switch OLED model was the top‑selling Switch variant, moving 2,619 units. Overall, Nintendo’s hardware lineup continues to dominate Japanese sales, with the Switch family now totalling over 36.9 million units sold nationwide.

Other notable titles in the top‑20 list included Pokémon Pokopia, eFootball Kick‑Off!, Mario Kart World, and Minecraft, reflecting Nintendo’s strong presence in the Japanese market.
