Nintendo announces Zelda-themed Switch 2 hardware and Ocarina of Time remake
Nintendo is preparing for the release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for the Switch 2 on November 5, 2026. To celebrate the franchise's 40th anniversary, the company is launching a special Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition hardware lineup on October 29.
The hardware includes a Switch 2 console featuring a black, gold, and green color scheme with Triforce and Hylian Crest motifs, priced at $519.99. Accompanying accessories include a themed Pro Controller with a display stand ($109.99) and a carrying case ($34.99–$39.99). Demand for these items has been high, with many retailers reporting that pre-orders are already sold out.
Retailers are preparing for the game's launch. Best Buy has announced midnight openings at nearly all U.S. stores on November 5 to facilitate the release. Meanwhile, physical editions of the game are being offered through various retailers, including Otto, which includes an Ocarina keychain, and Amazon, which is offering discounted pre-orders for both digital and physical copies.
