Nintendo Switch 2 reveals major software lineup and updates
During the September 2026 Nintendo Direct, Nintendo and Capcom announced several major software releases for the Nintendo Switch 2. Capcom confirmed that the remakes of Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition will launch digitally on October 16, 2026, with physical copies arriving on January 29, 2027.
Nintendo also revealed a free update for Mario Kart World, which includes ten classic courses from the original Super Mario Kart, such as Choco Island and Ghost Valley. The update also introduces two new Knockout Tour routes, Propeller Rally and Turnip Rally, alongside a new Spectator Mode for online and LAN play.
Other notable announcements include Monster Hunter Wilds, scheduled for release on December 4, 2026, and Kirby and the World Beyond, arriving in spring 2027. Additional titles mentioned include Metroid Ravenous, Persona 6, and Final Fantasy VII Revelation.
