Nintendo unveils Splatoon Raiders gameplay, new enemies and gadgets

Nintendo released a 15‑minute Direct video on 30 June 2026 previewing Splatoon Raiders, the first spin‑off in the Splatoon series and a launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2. The game is set on the fictional Uzushio Islands and introduces a new protagonist, the “Mechanic”, who joins the Suri‑mi Union on a treasure‑hunting adventure. Highlights include a host of new enemy types dubbed “Kiwanomoshake”, such as “粗挽きテッパン”, “厚切りタンシオ” and “メガ盛りタワー”, described as especially dangerous visually and in combat.

The presentation also detailed “Gadgets”, special tools players can equip on a back‑mounted tank (up to two at a time) to counter the shark‑like foes. Gadgets are classed as Speed, Power or Technical, each offering distinct attack styles – from boomerang‑type projectiles to spin‑wheels and laser‑linked hoppers – and can be customized with up to nine parts at a cost. Splatoon Raiders is scheduled for release on 23 July 2026, priced at ¥7,480 for the retail version and ¥6,480 for the download.

All three reports focus on the same Direct event, describing the same game details and launch information.
