Nintendo Switch 2 Zelda Ocarina of Time remake receives ESRB E10+ rating

Nintendo updated the official U.S. web page for the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake on the Switch 2. The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has now listed the title with an E10+ rating, citing “Animated Blood” and “Fantasy Violence.” The rating matches that of the 2011 Nintendo 3DS version, but the “Suggestive Themes” descriptor that appeared on the 3DS version is absent.

The ESRB rating is typically applied in the final stages of development, indicating that a near‑final build of the game is being evaluated. Nintendo has not confirmed any changes to the game’s content, and the rating suggests the remake will retain the classic gameplay and storyline while updating graphics for the Switch 2. The game is slated for release in 2026, with industry observers expecting a launch in the latter half of the year, possibly around November, to align with Nintendo’s traditional timing for major titles.
