Nintendo's Ocarina of Time Remake to Launch with E10+ Rating on Switch
Nintendo confirmed that the upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo Switch 2 will carry an E10+ rating from the Entertainment Software Rating Board, citing animated blood and fantasy violence. The original 1998 release was rated E, while the 2011 3DS version already received an E10+ rating. The new version does not include the previous "suggestive themes" warning.
A separate investigation highlighted inaccuracies in the game’s historic Metascore. A YouTube channel discovered that the perfect 99 rating listed on Metacritic omitted several contemporary reviews and included erroneous scores, such as a 100 rating for GamePro’s original 98 score. These discrepancies suggest the legendary score may have been overstated.
