NIO advanced manufacturing plant recognized as National Excellence Smart Factory

NIO's advanced manufacturing facility has been designated as a 2026 National Excellence Smart Factory by six Chinese government departments, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. This recognition highlights the company's integration of industrial AI and digital twin technologies to create a closed-loop manufacturing system.

At the Xinqiao Phase II plant, NIO utilizes self-developed industrial AI algorithms to support decision-making in 80% of manufacturing scenarios. The facility features specialized AI systems such as ‘Tian Tan’, which performs over 1,000 vehicle function tests in three minutes, and ‘Tian Tong’, which completes vehicle inspections in 84 seconds with a 99.7% defect identification accuracy.

Previously recognized as a World Economic Forum ‘Lighthouse Factory’, the Xinqiao Phase II plant has achieved 90% automation in R&D workflows and can manage over 3.6 million vehicle configurations, significantly accelerating product time-to-market.
