Nioh 3's Hell Rising DLC launches on August 19

Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo announced that the first major story expansion for the action‑RPG Nioh 3, titled Hell Rising, will be released on 19 August 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.

The expansion moves the player to Edo in 1651 during the Keian Era, following the death of the future shogun Takechiyo. Players team up with the one‑eyed swordsman Yagyu Jubei and the Spanish envoy Rodrigo to investigate the Spirit Stones amid human and yokai enemies. New weapons include the hoko short spear and shield for both Samurai and Ninja styles, and a new equipment category called Hundred Demon Realm Picture Scrolls. An extreme difficulty mode, the Enlightened One’s Journey, is also added. Hell Rising is the first of two planned DLCs; the second, Bloody Insurrection, is slated for 2027.
