NIP Group expands Bitcoin mining capacity through share issuance
NIP Group, the parent company of the esports organization Ninjas in Pyjamas, has completed its third major acquisition of Bitcoin mining hardware. The expansion is being financed through the issuance of up to 247,091,740 Class-A ordinary shares rather than cash.
Following this transaction, the company expects its total mining capacity to reach approximately 13.85 EH/s. This capacity is projected to produce roughly 195 Bitcoin per month, valued at approximately $2.8 million at current market prices. CEO Hicham Chahine stated that the company aims to capitalize on the market while competition is relatively lower and noted that the computing facilities could potentially be repurposed for artificial intelligence if returns prove more favorable than mining.
While the expansion aims to improve margins and profitability, analysts have noted risks, including the potential dilution of existing shareholders due to the large volume of new shares being issued. Additionally, actual revenue remains subject to fluctuations in Bitcoin prices, mining difficulty, and operational costs.
