Niphad activists release stray dogs in civic office protest
Activists in the Nashik district of Maharashtra staged a protest at the Niphad Nagar Panchayat office to demonstrate against the growing stray dog population and alleged administrative inaction.
Led by Yuva Sena district chief Vikram Randhave, protesters entered the office of Chief Officer Dhiraj Bhamre and released several stray dogs and puppies inside the premises. As part of the demonstration, protesters also placed a garland made of currency notes on the official’s desk.
Randhave stated that residents have been reporting the stray dog menace for six months without effective resolution. He demanded immediate sterilization drives and improved dog-catching arrangements to protect vulnerable groups, including children, women, and senior citizens. The protesters warned of further demonstrations if the civic body fails to address the issue.
