Nipon Boonyamanee presides over novice ordination in Songkhla

Nipon Boonyamanee, former Deputy Minister of Interior and former President of the Songkhla Provincial Administrative Organization, presided over a novice ordination and female precepts ceremony at Dao Nai Roi School in Songkhla province. The 10th edition of the ‘Dao Nai Roi Chom Mai, Heart of Faith’ project was organized to offer merit to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother and Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha.

The program aims to provide students with opportunities to study Buddhist principles through practical application, fostering morality, ethics, discipline, and responsibility. Nipon emphasized that ordination serves as a vital tool for training the minds of youth, teaching them patience, self-control, and social coexistence.

During the ceremony, Nipon referenced the philosophy of General Prem Tinsulanonda, a statesman from Songkhla, who advocated for prioritizing the development of ‘good people’ over merely ‘smart people.’ He noted that while intelligence is necessary, it must be paired with integrity and ethics to truly benefit society and the nation.
