Nippon Ichi Software updates ‘Hono Kurashi no Niwa’ with new content

Nippon Ichi Software has released the first free update for the life simulation game ‘Hono Kurashi no Niwa’. Developed by Team Yokei, the game is set in the secluded village of Higatsumura and features a mix of rural living and eerie supernatural elements.

The update introduces several new features, including the expansion of farmland, allowing players to unlock a fourth plot of land. New livestock such as chickens, ducks, fluffy cows, and spotted goats have been added, alongside a new ‘camping series’ of furniture. A ‘furniture catalog’ function has also been implemented, enabling players to reorder previously purchased items for delivery.

Quality-of-life improvements include a feature to check the remaining days of scarecrows, adjustments to prevent crops from withering immediately when a scarecrow breaks, and streamlined processing for machines. A second free update is scheduled for October 27, with paid DLC featuring new maps and events planned for spring 2027.
