Nippon Tokushu Tokogyo to pilot factory CO2 recovery and sale

Nippon Tokushu Tokogyo, Hitachi Plant Services, and High Pressure Gas Industry have entered a partnership to conduct demonstration tests for the separation, recovery, liquefaction, and sale of CO2 emitted from factories.

The project aims to establish a complete supply chain and business model for carbon utilization. Starting in October 2026 at the Komaki Plant, the trial will recover approximately 300 tons of CO2 annually from boiler exhaust gases. Following the demonstration, the companies plan to launch commercial services in April 2027, targeting an annual scale of approximately 2,000 tons. The recovered liquefied CO2 will be sold for use in agriculture, industry, welding, and as green carbonic acid for beverages.
