Nippon TV and Hulu announce new migration-themed dating show

Nippon TV and Hulu have announced details for their new reality dating program, ‘Hoshi no Mieru Machi de’ (In a Town Where You Can See the Stars), which focuses on the themes of romance and rural migration. The series follows five women from Tokyo who visit a scenic rural town to experience ‘love and migration’ by meeting local men living grounded lives in nature.

The program is scheduled to begin broadcasting and streaming on October 16. Yuki Uchida, Gekidan Hitori, and Nagisa Shibuya will serve as studio observers to watch the participants' journeys. Machiko Sato will act as the program host.

Singer-songwriter Reira Ushio has written the theme song, titled ‘Moshi,’, specifically for the series. The track is intended to reflect the program’s concept of the struggle between wanting to change one’s lifestyle and the difficulty of doing so. The full version of the program will be available exclusively on Hulu, with a television version airing on Nippon TV.
