Nippon University Orchestra performs for kindergarten students
The Nippon University Orchestra held a visiting concert for kindergarten students at the Nippon University Kindergarten in Suginami, Tokyo, on September 16. This marked the orchestra’s first performance at the facility, where 106 children attended.
Led by Director Yoichi Kitayama, a five-member ensemble featuring violin, viola, cello, and double bass performed classical pieces including Mozart’s ‘Eine kleine Nachtmusik’ and Pachelbel’s ‘Canon’. The program also included popular melodies from ‘My Neighbor Totoro’, ‘Mickey Mouse March’, and ‘The Little Mermaid’ to encourage student participation through singing and clapping.
The performance aimed to provide emotional education by allowing children to experience the power of live music firsthand.
