Nirmal Kumar accuses DMK of seeking BJP help to protect family

Tamil Nadu Law Minister Nirmal Kumar has accused the DMK of seeking assistance from the BJP to protect party members from legal cases. Speaking to reporters in Chennai, Kumar suggested that the DMK's current political stance mirrors its previous attitudes, alleging a secret alliance exists between the two parties.

Regarding water disputes, Kumar stated that the Tamil Nadu government is pursuing legal action in the Supreme Court to ensure the release of Cauvery water, following Karnataka's refusal to comply with the Cauvery Management Authority's orders. He noted that a hearing is scheduled for the 17th.

On economic matters, the Minister claimed that increased transparency has encouraged major corporations to invest in the state. He highlighted that recent reforms in auction processes for TASMAC and vehicle number plates have generated approximately ₹15,000 crore in revenue for the state treasury.
