Nishatpura Railway Station Opens in Bhopal, Adding Fourth Station

After remaining unused for nearly three years, the Nishatpura railway station in Bhopal was inaugurated on July 28. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav performed the flag‑hoisting ceremony and launched passenger services, marking the city’s fourth railway station.

The station, completed in June 2023, had been idle due to staff shortages and pending operational clearances. With its opening, the Malwa Express and the Veraval‑Jabalpur (Somnath‑Jabalpur) Express now stop at Nishatpura, easing traffic at the main Bhopal station and improving connectivity for travelers on the Indore‑Ujjain corridor. The launch is presented as part of the state’s Singhasth 2028 preparations.

Authorities said the new stop will benefit residents of Nishatpura and surrounding areas, reduce congestion at the central hub, and support regional trade and pilgrimage traffic expected for the upcoming Singhasth festival.
