Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen celebrates anniversary with GO WEST4 festival

JR Kyushu held the fourth annual ‘GO WEST’ event to celebrate the anniversary of the Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen. The festival, themed ‘Night Festival,’ featured activities across five stations including Takeo-Onsen, Ureshino-Onsen, Shin-Omura, Isahaya, and Nagasaki.

Participants could purchase a ‘T-shirt ticket’ for 3,000 yen, which provided unlimited rides on the Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen for one day. The event included local food markets, workshops, and special ‘GO WEST’ temporary trains. Additionally, donation boxes were placed at stations to support recovery and reconstruction efforts following the Kumamoto Earthquake.
