Nishiki iwamoto ramen shop suspends operations due to owner's illness
Nishiki iwamoto, a Michelin Bib Gourmand-recognized ramen shop located in Matsuyama, has suspended operations as of September 21 due to the owner's sudden hospitalization for meningitis.
The owner reported that while this is not the first time they have contracted meningitis, the current cause has been identified as a specific virus, allowing for targeted medication. While a discharge date is expected soon, the timeline for reopening the restaurant remains undecided.
To prevent the waste of prepared soup, the shop is preparing to sell frozen ramen sets via mail order, including Sea Bream and Hinikko Jidori chicken varieties. Orders are being accepted through their official Instagram.
