Nishiyama Rinkyu celebrates debut single 'Onjii' with live event in Kawasaki

Eleven‑year‑old enka singer Nishiyama Rinkyu, who won the 13th edition of the "Singing King" competition, marked his major‑label debut with a live event on July 7 at the Lazona Kawasaki Plaza. The concert featured his debut single "Onjii", written by lyricist Yasushi Akimoto, as well as performances of "Nanbu Semi Shigure" and "Arekara". Nishiyama spoke about the recent Kumamoto earthquake, saying he hopes to bring a little cheer and a smile through his songs, and noted his roots in Hirado, Nagasaki.

The audience responded with enthusiastic applause, and after the set a photo‑session was held for CD purchasers, allowing fans to meet the young performer and celebrate the release of his single.
