Nishu Azad alleges continued threats despite Supreme Court protection order

Fourteen-year-old Dalit content creator Nishu Azad and her family have reported ongoing harassment, including abusive messages, obscene language, and threats sent to their mobile numbers. Azad expressed that she is “genuinely afraid” for the safety of her family and siblings, noting that unidentified individuals have allegedly pelted stones at her residence.

Despite a Supreme Court order directing authorities to ensure their protection, Azad claims that neither she nor her family has received adequate security. She also alleged that several false cross-FIRs have been registered against her in different states, which she fears could lead to life-threatening situations. The Supreme Court has since sought status reports from the Delhi and Uttar Pradesh police regarding security arrangements and the investigation into these allegations.

In addition to physical and digital threats, the family has reported financial pressure. Azad alleged that an SBI account used by the family was frozen following a cybercrime complaint, which she described as an attempt to exert mental and financial strain. Her father, Sanjay Kumar, has preserved digital evidence, including call records and screenshots, to assist the Delhi Police in identifying those responsible.
