Nissan achieves Guinness World Record in Colombia with e-POWER technology
The Nissan Qashqai e-POWER has earned a Guinness World Record after completing a 1,980-kilometer journey through Colombia's geography without requiring external electric recharges or fuel replenishment.
Unlike conventional hybrids, Nissan's e-POWER architecture uses electric motors as the sole source of traction, while the internal combustion engine acts exclusively as a generator to power the battery pack and inverter. This setup aims to provide the instant torque and smooth acceleration of a fully electric vehicle while bypassing the need for public charging infrastructure.
Nissan is also looking toward the future with the development of its Nissan AI Drive suite, which intends to provide more intuitive digital interfaces and driving assistance, though a specific commercial release date for these AI features in Colombia has not yet been confirmed.
