Nissan and Honda announce 2026 updates for X-Trail and Fit models

Major Japanese automakers Nissan and Honda have announced significant updates to their popular vehicle lineups scheduled for 2026.

Nissan plans to release a minor update for the X-Trail (T33) in September 2026. The update focuses on equipment standardization for the e-POWER G grade, which will include the panoramic glass roof and 19-inch wheels as standard features. However, some advanced features such as the Head-Up Display (HUD) and ProPilot Parking Assist are expected to be removed from this grade. These changes are anticipated to result in a price increase of approximately 150,000 yen for the e-POWER G model.

Honda will launch a refreshed version of the Fit in July 2026 to mark the 25th anniversary of the model. The update introduces a simplified four-tier lineup: the entry-level X, the Z grade focused on comfort and sportiness, the hybrid-exclusive RS, and the outdoor-oriented CROSSTAR. The Fit refresh includes improved exterior paint gloss and upgraded interior features, such as heated steering wheels and seats being made standard across several grades.
