Nissan and Mitsubishi announce new vehicle launches in New Zealand
Nissan and Mitsubishi have announced new vehicle launches in the New Zealand market, focusing on hybrid and electric options.
Nissan has introduced front-wheel drive versions of the X-Trail e-Power alongside two Rock Creek grades. The e-Power Rock Creek is a variant exclusive to New Zealand. The 2WD e-Power model utilizes a 1.5-litre turbo petrol generator to charge the battery, which then powers an electric motor to drive the wheels. This configuration offers a combined fuel consumption of 5.4L/100km.
Mitsubishi Motors New Zealand confirmed that the all-electric ASX VR-e will arrive in dealerships this December. Developed through a partnership with Foxtron and Pininfarina, the range includes four models with 57.7kWh lithium iron phosphate batteries. Prices for the ASX VR-e range from $57,990 for the rear-wheel-drive LS model to $72,990 for the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive GSR flagship. The GSR model is noted as the fastest production Mitsubishi in New Zealand, capable of a 0-100km/h time of 3.9 seconds.
