Nissan announces return of Pixo subcompact electric vehicle

Nissan has announced the return of the Pixo nameplate for a new subcompact electric vehicle (EV) targeting the European market. The official debut is scheduled for September 23.

Built on the AmpR Small modular platform, the Pixo will share its underlying design with the Renault Twingo E-Tech and the Dacia Spring. While sharing a platform, Nissan intends to differentiate the Pixo with unique exterior styling, including a distinct front and rear design, and a customized interior.

Positioned as an entry-level A-segment city commuter, the vehicle is designed for urban environments. It is expected to feature a modest battery capacity, likely around 27.5kWh, to prioritize affordability and weight reduction. Estimates suggest the vehicle could be priced under 20,000 euros. Production is anticipated to take place at the Renault Group plant in Novo Mesto, Slovenia.
