Nissan begins international exports of Tekton SUV from India

Nissan has commenced international exports of its new midsize SUV, the Tekton, from its manufacturing hub in Chennai, India. The first shipment, consisting of over 1,300 vehicles, was dispatched on September 1, destined for South Africa, Bhutan, and Nepal.

The Tekton is part of Nissan’s strategy to utilize its Indian production facilities for global markets. The vehicle shares the CMF-B platform with the latest Renault Duster.

In the domestic Indian market, Nissan reported a significant increase in wholesale numbers for August, with domestic sales reaching 3,426 units—a 147 percent year-on-year increase. This growth is attributed in part to the expanded product lineup including the Magnite, Gravite, and Tekton.

Additionally, the Tekton has been introduced to the Kashmir market via the Kashmir Nissan–Kitab Mobility showroom in Srinagar, where it was officially unveiled by local officials.
