Nissan expands EV lineup with Ariya SUV and Leaf compact car

Nissan is promoting two fully electric five‑seat models in its European range. The Nissan Leaf, built in Britain, is positioned as a compact, lower‑priced EV with a length of 4,350 mm, a boot capacity of 437 litres (up to 1,052 litres with seats folded) and a tighter footprint for city driving. The newer Nissan Ariya is marketed as the brand’s flagship electric SUV, offering a larger cabin, a more premium interior, and a longer driving range. Its dimensions are 4,595 mm long, 1,850 mm wide and 1,660 mm tall, providing a larger boot and a more lounge‑like feel. The Ariya features 20‑inch wheels, a configurable 64‑colour ambient lighting system, heated and ventilated seats, a 15 W wireless charger and NissanConnect integration with Google services. While the Ariya is not yet sold in France, Nissan aims to compete with rivals such as the Volkswagen ID.4 and Hyundai Ioniq 5 in the European electric‑SUV segment.
