Nissan expands regional vehicle lineup amid trade and structural shifts
Nissan is expanding its regional presence with updates to its vehicle lineup, though market entry varies by country due to regulatory and structural changes.
In Peru, Nissan, represented by Astara, has launched the All-New Versa 2027. The new generation features a redesigned exterior, a 1.6-liter engine producing 122 HP, and an Xtronic CVT automatic transmission. The model emphasizes connectivity with a 9-inch touchscreen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside improved ergonomic seating for urban and long-distance driving.
In Argentina, the arrival of the new Nissan Versa and Frontier models is currently pending the renewal of the Economic Complementary Agreement No. 55 (ACE 55) with Mexico. This trade agreement is critical for determining import conditions and tariffs. The delay coincides with a significant structural shift in the country, as Nissan Argentina transitions from a subsidiary to a brand represented by importers SIMPA and Tagle, effective November 1.
