Nissan Kicks earns five-star Latin NCAP safety rating in Brazil
The Brazilian-produced Nissan Kicks has achieved a five-star safety rating from Latin NCAP, the highest possible score. This result follows a voluntary audit test conducted by the organization on the SUV manufactured in Resende, Rio de Janeiro.
The vehicle received high scores for occupant protection (86%), child protection (92%), and safety assistance (85%). Notably, the Brazilian version showed improved performance in side-impact tests compared to the Mexican version, where a door had previously opened during testing; Latin NCAP noted this improvement was due to the implementation of a countermeasure.
However, the Brazilian model saw a slight decrease in certain metrics compared to the 2025 unit tested, including a 4% drop in adult occupant protection and a 3% decrease in safety assistance scores. The report cited concerns regarding footwell stability and marginal whiplash protection due to changes made to the seats in the national models.
