Nissan launches 2027 Sentra with Midnight Edition and CVT updates

Nissan USA has officially announced and released the 2027 Nissan Sentra, featuring several functional and aesthetic updates. A primary addition is the SR Midnight Edition, a special trim package based on the SR grade. This edition includes blacked-out elements such as emblems, window trim, and 18-inch black aluminum wheels, with options for a two-tone super black roof.

Technical improvements include a retuned Xtronic CVT designed to provide smoother, more linear acceleration and more responsive pedal input based on customer feedback. Additionally, the 2027 model introduces Qi2-compatible wireless smartphone charging, which is standard on higher trims like the SR and SL and optional on the SV grade.

In markets like Taiwan, while the current Sentra remains the older generation, a major redesign is expected to arrive next year. The North American model features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing approximately 149 horsepower and a chassis with 6% improved rigidity compared to its predecessor.
