Nissan leverages Formula E GEN4 to advance EV technology

Nissan is utilizing the upcoming Formula E GEN4 era to create a continuous feedback loop between racing technology and consumer electric vehicles. While Nissan initially applied road-to-track knowledge from the Leaf, the transition to GEN4—arriving in 2026/27—will allow racing innovations to cascade back into mass-market EVs.

The GEN4 cars are expected to feature significant performance upgrades, including 450kW in race trim and 600kW in Attack Mode, capable of reaching 62mph in approximately 1.8 seconds. Key technical developments include active all-wheel drive and regeneration capabilities of up to 700kW.
